Yes, that is a good point. That has been the place to park. But the US dollar does not have the 'positional' appeal of gold. BTW, that is why central bankers are leery of gold -- it is 'positional'. Its price can be 'contained' to a degree by central bank sales and by gold leasing, and in fact containment has been very effective. But now it appears that the price is no longer containable -- supply and demand has that kind of impact in the long run. Now that it is moving up I expect it will be hard to box-in again. The run could last 2 to 3 years.
