If I recall correctly Norton does have the option to display the scanning of incoming mail in the systray. Good feature. I really don't know why Norton would have allowed that email to get through the scans but I would not be happy about it. I also don't like the fact that there doesn't seem to be a "scan with norton" choice on your right-click menu. I would think about a reinstall.

I was informed on a pm today from a trusted source that Norton should flag the incoming infected email without you trying to open it. You might try downloading this utility (it will set off your virus alert but it is not a virus)discussed on the thread a few months ago and try emailing it to yourself. If Norton does not flag it you have something wrong.
