Doug actually thinks he came home from the V-----m war.
We keep trying to explain to him that he is actually MIA,
but it does no good. He just keeps trying to mail watermelon
in standard business size envelopes to trial customers.

I was trying to get a Ghanian watermelon patch going on
the Ashanti trend in some conglomerate reef when the price
of watermelon dove in 1997. The whole effort would have
been "fruitless" until recently. Now Ghanian vines would
be of interest to many suckers of the melon patch.

I think Doug underestimates the power of empathy in the
human spirit. Thousands of draft dodgers knew they would
not like war without ever being in one. You have to give
them credit. As well, although I have never been run over
by a car, I would hazard a guess that I don't need to be,
just to know not to play chicken in heavy traffic. I
will admit though, after the first few times being
flattened by two tons of high speed metal, your
reflexes would be some sharp.
