Highway Robbery

is the title of a must read article in today's (yesterday's for, you Mq) WSJ Opinion Section. At least the lead paragraph will delight many QCOM fans. Seems a certain Anssi Vanjoki, Senior Vice President of Nokia got a speeding ticket recently for driving 47 in a 30mph zone (that's what the article says, though I assume the infraction was actually measured in kph.)

His fine, in a country where traffic fines are calibrated by the infractor's income and Mr. Vanjokki had "recently casheed in a whole lot of stock options": $103,600, a new record.

(the previous record: $71,400 levied on "an Internet entrepreneur...for doing 43 mph in a 25 mph zone")
