The fact remains, that the Arab armies far outgunned the Hagannah

Israel had more troops and weapons. Israel had 27,400 armed troops on the frontlines, compared to 13,876 of the Arab countries combined. 40,000 Jewish troops and 50,000 militia against 20,000 Arab troops and 13,000 guerillas. Israel had 800 armored vehicles vs. 113 for the Arabs, 787 mortars vs. 40 for the Arabs, 4 field guns vs. 102 for the Arabs.
