Thanks for your post - The problem you describe seems so straightforward, it's hard to imagine anything except a quick resolution. Giving you to a manager is apparently
a big no-no at E*Trade - that is perfectly congruent with
my experience. Are the reps incompetent? or, are they trained to obstruct monetary recovery and any other customer initiative that requires their performance? If I hadn't witnessed this behavior for myself, it would be
hard to believe this "the customer is always wrong" story.

But, I guess maybe they have a lot of inexperienced
folks. . .
