Well, most women will tell you it is hours of pain and suffering, some say DAYS! I played an orchestra concert, two days later went in for a checkup, Dr. says you are 8 cm dilated - its time,... I said yeah right, see you next week, he said , no, seriously ..pack your stuff and go to the hospital. I went home lounged for a while, made phone calls, packed a few things and finally went to the hospital with the hubby. I can tell you only 15-20 minutes were the painful times, how can I describe it.... it's like having the worst case of constipation in your life, and a crew of nurses cheering you on. Unreal. Have fun imagining THAT!
