Here's a couple of fun charts I just put together
First one shows huge increase in annual gold mine production.
(especially since 1980 when heap leaching really kicked in)

Second one shows cumulative world gold production
About 50% of all gold ever produced was mined since 1960
About 75% of all gold ever produced was mined since 1910
