Dan, RE: Try running a Dell at 90+% CPU with the disks cranking flat out most (or all) of the time and see what happens.

Some little memory leak or driver "issue" pops up and you get reminded, once again, why your favorite color is not blue.

I've seen SUN's running for months under this kind of utilization.


If you make the fight fair, then it can be pretty close.

If you take the option that doesn't involve blue (preferably red, as in Red Hat), then the Dell can run for months, too.
