The article did say the Republicans were "pro-business", which doesn't mean (despite your protestations) that they are therefore anti-"little guys". K-Mart looks desperate and with Wal-Mart as competition and stupidly trying to match prices with them their only hope is that their "soft money" causes GWB to add Wal-Mart to the "evil axis" and declare a jihad.

Wal-Mart spent $500,000 just to win a little special election in my city. They got 22,000 votes and built a store two blocks from K-Mart and across the street from the local cemetery.
