Bruce, I think that may be a little harsh, after all I think Gary, just like the rest of us, want things to happen.
I agree with him in the fact that it has been a long and hard period to swallow in the minds of many. Yes, we need news, but we also need to get the S-1 completed, until then you aren't going to be hearing much of anything.
Where I firmly disagree with Gary is in his attack on those that are strongly convicted to believing in FTEL. Our intentions are open, and unwavering. We are up front with who we are and in what we believe. I also feel that all the information regarding what is going on in the industry is very worthwhile. An informed investor is just that, an investor, not a flipper.
The entire premise of investing is in analyzing the market in which your potetial investment operates. There is no secret to who Franklin is alligned with. Knowing those alliances, the direction of the industry sector, and trying to figure out Franklins niche, is what it's all about. If after analyzing Franklin's products, you can visualize the potential for those products, then that is what speculation is all about.
Gary claims to know as much as anyone. That I doubt very much. He self admittidly follows this board, and the information passed on by Meyerson in the past. I too, speak to Meyerson, and I can tell you first hand, they don't have a clue. They only know what Frank has let them know, nothing more and nothing less. They couldn't even explain to me what a channel bank was. They were in it for the easy money, as Gary was. Heller, Gary, and whomever may have sold off some of their shares at higher levels, God bless them. I could care less.
Gary also would want you to believe that they are only shipping a small amount of product out the door. Well, then why doesn't Gary, who claims to know so much, explain just what it is that they are shipping, and what the margins are on those items, and to whom they are being shipped? I'll tell you why. Because Gary doesn't know what he owns. He didn't when he wanted to sell us all his warrants, he doesn't now.
Gary says that he will be vindicated when the numbers are published. Sorry Gary! I think you will be proven wrong. As of the 6 months ended, FTEL reported revenues of $881k vs a total revenue of the preceding year of $430k. It is my prediction that we will see revenues in the neighborhood of $2 million for the year(+or-10%), and that is based strictly on hardware. If that is the case, then it would reflect an approximate 500% increase over last year. Even if the revenues only hit 1.5 million, it wouldn't mean much. In earlier posts, I have contended that the 1st qtr of 1998 (July thur Sept) would be the real test, and the second quarter is when we could really start to gauge the growth potential.
Look back at FIBR, and see what happens when a company starts to come out of R&D and starts to ship, and begins to utilize those alliances that they have previously built. That's what we have been waiting for, and now we have arrived at that critical stage, "truth or dare" so to speak.
I can understand Gary's frustration, but I won't sit back and listen to someone chastize others, when they never have taken the time to fully understand their own investment. When Gary goes to visit, or takes the time to call the company and ask what is being shipped, or talks to Alan London, or understands what is on the industry's horizon and how FTEL fits into the gameplan, then I will pay heed to what Gary has to say.
In the meantime, all those that read this can take it, anyway they want. Hype or informative narrative? Don't like it, don't buy it. All anyone owes, is unto himself. Know it, or blow it.
