Chip i can think of several ways that this could be done, only testing will prove which method has merit.

you could try dow adv vol minus dow decline vol
input column b adv vol
input column c decline vol
column d, =(B2-C2)
column e, =SUM(D2+E1)
then just carry the columns down to the bottom of the input page

doing the numbers individually for each stock component will have
a different result than doing a cumulative number for the index
which way is better....i don't know
test it and tell me the direction to proceed
