LOL! A seven count unanimous conviction on monopoly violations by a US federal appeals court (good Republican nominees...) - marking the third court decision (out of three...) to rail against MS's free market subverting practices in the past decade, followed by a new 'Justice Dept.' about-face and a deal with more loopholes and footnotes and definitional evasions than an Enron 10K... I'd say that Microsoft's scaled-up lobbying activity bore fruit! It's one thing to cut a weak deal when you are unsure of your chances prior to trial (as the Government did in their first pass at MS, oh so many years ago)... but cutting a sweetheart deal after a unanimous appeals court victory is nearly unprecedented.
