Diversification! Diversification! Diversification! They said US market has about 40% of the world's assets, so one important way of spreading your investment around is to invest internationally. I think the easiest way to do it is buying the international funds. I dont like paying load, so a few good funds may be like Janus overseas, Warburg Pincus international, Founders passport, Oakmark international, etc. Check out July 8's issue of Barrons, or mutual fund quarterly reports of July 3's WSJ or USA Today. I just bought PBHG core growth and Tech and Comm. funds today. I have a major weakness in that every time somebody threatens to close their mutual funds, I will put in my minimum investment just for future references. Naturally, I end up with more than 20 funds right now. I am not bothered by funds reopening to new investers per se. As long as they kept up with the good work.Good luck! JC Goal
