One of the main reasons why the CPI is rising so slowly this year is the strong dollar. The price of imported goods has fallen significantly this year, the rise in US made goods is about the same as it was last year. If you think the dollar will continue to rise inflation will continue to be very low, if you think the dollar will stay about where it is expect the CPI to rise at a 3% annualized rate through the rest of the year.
