Infineon seeks broader Hynix deal, sources say FRANKFURT, Germany -- German semiconductor group Infineon Technologies AG is talking to South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor about an alliance extending beyond memory chips, industry sources said on Tuesday. The sources told Reuters that Infineon was talking to the heavily-indebted Korean chipmaker about a partnership that could include cooperation in both memory and communication chips, confirming a report in German business newspaper Handelsblatt. But they said talks were at an early stage and would not confirm a South Korean newspaper report on Saturday that Infineon had made an offer to buy Hynix's memory chip business.
