Eric L posted an article mentioning Dell and gprs. That made me think of this press release from last summer. Seybold speculated about computer companies to launch 1xEV computers this year. We may see more on this trend in 1xEV laptop and pc computers in the near future. Bye, bye dial up. Hello broadband for the masses.

-DSL covers 7% of the US right now at $40 a month.
-1xEV (W-DSL aka wireless DSL) will cover 100% of the US in a few months.

The jury is still out on pricing, but I think that wireless companies will get all the traffic they can handle with the two fold increase from 1X and the subsequent double in capacity from Revision 1. I'll bet you VZ and PCS are just dying to add an additional 1xEV DO carrier. Too bad the FCC has all their flash cash tied up in court. NXTL is looking good at $5 a share, even with $16 billion in debt.
