(As it's gold it may not be totally OT - but I confess that I'm stretching it!)
Judging at the Olympics without bias or ulterior motive does not seem possible. The gold ice dancing winners were good but clearly second or third. Their medal was fool's gold. How to cure this?
How about 1) no nationality shown for judges 2) maximum of 3 judges drawn at random for each event and 3) judges to be in cubicles (without TV) so they cannot see the score of their other colleagues.
