Keith,

The early Standards Requirements Document (SRD) for the Evolution of CDMA2000 (1xEV) you refer to was published in May 2000:

cdg.org

Phase 1 (1xEV-DO aka cdma2000 1x-Data Only Stage 1) which published as TIA/EIA/IS-856 in November 2000 is now in early stages of commercialization and Phase 2 (1xEV-DV) which is now referred to as cdma2000 Release C is a work in progress.

<< CDMA2000 1xRTT is the first 3G standard. I don't know if there is a line which specifically states that all revisions beyond 1x can to be categorized as 1xEV. Call it my poetic license. >>

OK, we'll call it Keith's poetic license. <g>

1xRTT at max peak rates of 153 kbps is cdma2000 Release 0 which is being implemented now here in the States and cdma2000 Release A which is ready to publish takes 1xRTT to peak rates of 307 kbps (and potentially 614 kbps).

It was your "poetic license" that was confusing us. It's difficult enough to keep track without the "poetic license". <ggg>

Best,

- Eric -
