I understand Eureka is worse for all of the
summer months...the California thermal trough
maintains brisk down pressure gradient winds
along the coast. Cold upwelled coastal water
and a marine boundary layer capped by warm
stable air means fog with the wind.
Awful. But the spring and fall have some fine
weather.

Seattle only sucks for most of November through March,
and you can always drive two hours to get out of the
rain.

I am never setting foot in California again, the
traffic zapped me on my last trip!
...well, Seattle traffic is just as bad...I just know
how to avoid it here;-)
