Venkie if you look at the statistics you will see lots of folks did NOT get out before losing it all.
Over 4 billion dollars lost by investors before the enron debacle....and many more millions or billions because of enron.
My opthamologist was one smart one who got out with a fortune.
But most people did not. Also you have tremendous optimism and have been able to get back in for gains...most people were crushed as I have been and have not been able to get back in at all or have gotten in and out and lost more as I have done.
I don't know the answer, if there is one.
There still is no other way for me to be a mlllionaire or multimillionaire again except by the stock market.
But for now I'm holding my gac.to (going up), brli and dfxi (going down) and cash and bonds and waiting until I am retired. Then I'll take Teresa Lo's course on smart trading and maybe I can become a smart trader. We'll see.
Meanwhile I am a different person than I was 2 years ago and the change is not good.
