BRCM- From Briefing.com- 8:40AM Broadcom faces threat from Intel in server chipset mkt: Wachovia (BRCM) 40.36: Wachovia says that BRCM faces a potential long-term competitive threat from INTC in the server chipset mkt. While BRCM currently dominates this biz, firm expects INTC to migrate its server processing roadmap from the current P3 to its next generation P4-based Xeon processors starting in 1H02; also, INTC could introduce its Plumas chipset within the same time frame, somewhat earlier than previous expectations of 2H02. Maintains Mkt Perform rating.
