Gottfried,

Interesting you should mention this. Just last night I was catching up on my backlog of magazine reading after my SF trip, and thought of MrB when I read an article in the June 30 issue of Business Week titled, "The In-Your-Face Economist", by Peter Coy (p.76).

It's about an economist (Jerry Hausman) who gives "sharp-tongued", "blunt advice" and "makes waves". Such as saying, "environmental economics is to economics what military music is to music". Fascinating article, and one that I recommend - esepcially for MrB to read. I think MrB and Hausman would make a dynamite duo.

I do admire MrB's propensity to tell it like he sees it, and I also think he has the potential to be a great economic columnist. Right now my favorite economic columnist is Newsweek's Robert Samuelson. I regularly read his columns.

Maybe we could talk MrB into giving us a few "practice columns" here on the Kook thread! (of all places) <g!> Now that would be interesting, wouldn't it? Especially if he could keep it to say, 250 words or less.
