The only thing concrete that Musharraf got in this visit is an additional $200 million in the 2003 budget for debt relief. This is being spun as "being worth $1 billion in net present value of future debt payments".

Not all assistance to Pakistan is automatically bad for India. For example, US is promising assistance in the General's Jihad to reform the education system in Pakistan. This is a good thing for India.

Nothing has happened during the visit that can be interpreted as a slap for India. None of Musharraf's wishes concerning India has been granted. Not intenrvention in Kashmir. Not pressure to start talks. No call for de-escalation. No F16s.

Musharraf even tried to create some hysteria by claiming a fresh nuke test by India, and basically got called a liar for his pains.

If anybody has been administered a slap, it is him.

And this will become obvious in the coming days from opinion pieces in Pakistani newspapers. It has already started.
