Hmmm. Have a lot of Old Man underlined, but missed that one. You mentioned that you trade intuitively. I can't because my "intuition" seems to be at the service of impatience, impulsivity, and wishful thinking. That's why I have to trade mechanically. In a raging bull market, I can trade intuitively, because even random entry works if you cut your losses ruthlessly. If anything quantitative ever occurs to you while you are intuiting, please let me know. Wouldn't want to interrupt the flow, of course. Re shorting, you remember the interview in one of Schwager's books where the lady trader says the best short sellers she ever met were also the most profoundly pessimistic? Couldn't have anything to do with that, could it?
