tc & KC,

I have 768MB running Win 98. At times I get over 256M allocated memory, but not all that often, so that is certainly overkill. I have also run with 512M, which would seem to be a good idea if I'm running more than 256M allocated. The extra memory does prevent "swapping". My swap file is never used. But there is no real performance improvement over 256M. And there is apparently no way to overcome the Win98 limited "resources" problem, no matter how much memory you throw in the box.

I got the memory at a great price, and may yet upgrade to an OS that can use it effectively.
