Larry,
Hi!!
Just got out of practice...Have a seeding meeting I have to attend in an hour and don't have access to a speaker on this school DELL PC...So, I'll have to catch the CC on the replay...

Did read the link on the DELL site...

Gary is right...And, BTW...Is anyone else making $$$ yet? Significant $$$ that is... That is and will always remain the reason why DELL will stand alone...All the Y/Y comparisons are bs...Everyone knows about the hurt here...As Sig said last week...DELL's cash and profit are greater than a slew of bluechips in all other industry segments...Still making billions in cash... Drew for years has referred to DELL as a cash cow... and statistically touted how DELL should be rewarded for what it makes...
Outstanding quarter Larry...Who else anywhere in the world was up anything like this? Any area of the corporate world did anyone make what DELL has made in this environment?
Price cuts...Bullshit!!! DELL's kickn' ass in any environment...Notice the servers?...Notice the storage?...3 full points!!!...Just outstanding...The others combined can't make that in 8 years! DELL does it in a year!

"Analysts said Dell gained almost three points of worldwide market share in servers from the year-ago quarter, and more than five in the United States."

Here again we have more evidence that the %'s are not from a low start...Workstations (which not that long ago would never be moved from the engrained trenches of SUNW) are up 21% even after DELL has taken the lead WW...

"Dell sold 69 percent more storage capacity during the quarter than in the year-ago quarter. External storage systems increased to 47 percent of the sales mix. Shipments of Dell Precision workstations, which already ranked No. 1 globally and in the U.S., were up 21 percent."

Larry, the stock price is not really important in this economic environment...At least that's how I feel as a long term shareholder...The math is here and DELL has earned tremendous share that DELL will not easily relinquish...They are entering the switch market...I'm waiting for someone to say they can't sell these either...

And,last; This echos what some sales reps have been touting:

. "The pace with which they're choosing Dell products and services accelerated last year, and puts us in a stronger competitive position than at any time in our history." msd

Battapaglia sited DELL as his #1 recommendation while on CNBC the other day...Precisely because of this last statement by Michael...This economic slowdown will end...It's like bowhunting...Ya just gotta wait patiently for the big one... ;o) And, DELL's not asleep...They've been preparing for that opportunity...

Best, Kemble
