But... but... Carranza, you paid $5 to go over the river on a raft. Money is everything as far as other people doing things for us is concerned, whether we call it money or now. Without money, we are little more than a species of chimp. Check out the chimp lifestyle for how we'd be without that wonderful human creation of fungible funds. We'd be back in the stone age [more or less], hunter-gathering with a spot of agriculture.

I can never understand the antipathy people have to money. It's like saying there is more to life than metres and kilograms. That's true, but if we can't measure a metre or kilogram, it's hard to know how much fuel to put in a 747 and good luck building one without a unit of measure [or a promise to pay the people who build it by measuring their effort in money].

Not saying you have an antipathy to money, you just triggered a hot button of mine. I also love starry nights; preferably Globalstarry nights.
