New Sun Cobalt system using AMD processors&#133

Launched Jan 28, 2002, the Cobalt "Qube"3 actually uses an AMD CPU! I had thought all the new models used Intel processors, but this is apparently not the case.

Note, however, that this isn't exactly a state-of-the-art AMD processor, but rather an unspecified 450MHz AMD processor :/

There is an option to get a faster processor, but no mention of frequency or brand (presumably just a 500MHz or 550MHz of the same, unspecified AMD chip).

January 28th, 2002 Sun Microsystems annouced the new Sun Cobalt Qube[tm] 3 appliance targeted at home networks and small businesses or remote branch offices. Take a sneak peak at the new version of the Sun Cobalt Qube 3 appliance.

For the processor info, you need to grab the data sheet from the page above.
