Filing a law suit is not easy. The requirement is that you must actually believe in the merits of the suit. It cost substantial time and buckos, just to investigate, type, phone and file. If you are stupid, you'll be out of court in 30 days, flat on your pituty and out a bunch of time and dinero.
The system takes care of the excesses of stupidity and greed on its own, thru the court system, prior to the heavy ad campaign.

The largest anti-legal publicity relations campaign conducted in this country is the money spent by INSURANCE companies. They have found it VERY EFFECTIVE in convincing the jury pool, that that poor sob who is a paraplegic now is just faking it.
It has obviously been successful with some. |
