<<nice agenda. Why waste your time here? Let me guess, you're trying to "protect" us!>>

Protect "us"? No; I don't know "us" from the bowl of clam chowder I had for lunch. I am interested, however, in my long position and how Lucent spends my money on executive compensation. I have my opinion on how much value I received from the multi-tens (if not hundreds) of millions paid to the previous CEO and it isn't much.

I'm going to get sued for expressing my opinion as a shareholder on something that appeared across the financial press and was widely questioned by others because it has an odd odor to it? On what grounds? Do you think Lucent is down 8% today and sucking air to hold $6, again, because of my little two cent comment?

If you're long and it works for you that the company uses your money to pay 'incentives' even if the performance goals are not attained, I respect your right to your opinion. I happen to view it as bogus and that's my opinion. Why would there be resistance to set 'incentive' payments based on results? What's the difference between base salary and 'incentive payments' paid regardless of acheiving performance goals? If you really read my post, you know those are my questions. Incentive payments based on actual results acheived works quite well in my business. Why wouldn't it be the same at Lucent?
