YOu both were a little surprised to have liked it at all which is neat and very neat that you allowed yourself to-- really, I was impressed. I do think we experience things differently when we are in groups of peers, and that X had an excellent point about going with friends in a sort of bonding thing, knowing everyone had given birth, or gone through some of the emotions if not the actual experiences.
DId you ever have the experience of watching a movie with your young son, one you had seen before and remembered as being perfectly fine, and then with him, you suddenly notice they use the F word every ten seconds, and there is SEX in it, and good lord, this is a terrible movie, what were you thinking. I tend to watch things with completely different agenda depending on many factors.
Kind of like a big belch in the locker room is a riot, but at a formal dinner party, it is definitely inappropriate. Sometimes things just depend on circumstances. :) Wandering afield here, and must go do some work. Inlaws arriving in the morning. |
