You know in the late 80's we had a similar situation to today. Then it was commercial real estate (which boomed from 83 to 87 the 87 market crash and tax law changes popped its bubble. Now its the telecom glut as well as "other" tech over capicity. I think the "other" is almost absorbed (3 to 12 months to go) but as for how robust it comes back is anybodies guess.

It was the oil patch prior to that. While the market bounced around from 72 to 82 the oil patch boomed and it bubbled but popped in 82 time frame.

Just some ramblings. This accounting thing will pass BUT we still have to see what the ramifications are. Have to agree there are always excesses in boom times which then become magnified on the downside.

The debt overhang seems to be one of the biggest issues impeding a recovery.

Just some ramblings.

Hope Jackson has avoided the flu bug. Grace was real sick for the past week. 4 days with temps spiking to 102 to 104 and the last 3 just minor fever. Its still lingering. Not pleasent for her parents but much worse for her.
