I think that all the talk coming out of the administration -- "axis of evil", etc. -- is part of preparing public opinion. If Bush makes the case that the Islamist groups, Al Quaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbullah, Hamas, etc are making common cause, and being backed by Iraq and Iran, I think the public will buy the argument. BTW, yesterday Ari Fleischer added the PA to the list of terrorist-states. What Sept 11th ended, was the idea that we could get away scott-free with ignoring major problems in that part of the world. People understand why they need to listen to the arguments now. So yes, the case will have to be made. But I think you're seeing the start of that right now.
