Maurice: Let's not call it a price war but a capacity war. I am more than content with my current plan of $75 for 3000 anytime minutes with long distance included. However, with an always on internet connection with bluetooth or usb port connectity to my computer, I would like to be able to use my cell phone 24/7 for voice and browsing.

I like the way that Bell Canada simplified unlimited browsing to in a simple $5 monthly fee. Pay for the expensive downloads if you want them. With BREW software, people will be able to choose what they want.

I should be able to get by with 3000 anytime minutes for $75 and unlimited high speed wireless for $5. Once the service is available, I can disconnect my $120 a month phone bill and my $20 a month MSN bill. That drops my monthly bills from $215 a month to $80. I will use free My Yahoo service and Yahoo City Guide services. That will leave me with only 1 telecom bill + my cable bill. We'll get to that issue next year with 1xEV DO.

I'm counting the days until 3G puts a fork in the local phone utilities. What is ATT going to do when they start showing goose-eggs for long distance services in 3 months? No wonder why people won't loan Global Crossing any commercial paper.<ng>
