Paul, do not squirm. I asked how much this "success" cost.
Simple question.

So, if it is a true "simple question", then maybe I can help.

Advertising costs on American Television vary depending on length of commercial, time of day shown, and the estimated number of households watching the commercial.

A commercial in the middle of the night, on a local owned tv station may be relatively cheap, while a commercial running in Prime Time (approx: 7:00pm-9:00pm) during the Olympics is probably going to break most companies budget.

It's all relative...... I once was speaking to a Doctor friend of mine, and he told me how much his malpractice insurance was. I was shocked, but he said....

It doesn't matter so much the cost, if you're already making bigger bundles of money.....

If it makes people remember your name when they go buy a computer, than IMO, it's worth it. Intel is making big enough bundles, so they should do it. Intel's "inside" campaign is recognized by the advertising world as one of the most successfull in years, and it seems that now Dell is following in those footsteps.

Seems AMD also "wishes" they could do it, since they are buying stickers on a race car, and 2 golf bags....

:-)
