I agree, and would add that the current incursions into electronic liberties are not a result of September 11th. And these liberties are what have been sacrificed, but that was as a result of Carnivore and similar electronic eavesdropping endeavors. And, I am not sure if they really are an invasion of privacy. Using the internet is similar in a way to using the highway system. IMO.
