I agree that that there is a point of diminishing returns. I save all my pics as "high quality" JPEGs, which for my 2.1 Mgpxl camera comes out to around .5 Mgb/pic. I like HP printers. I have a Deskjet 952c, which provides all the quality I think I need and was under $200. I think they have even better models now in a similar price range. HP has a great exchange program, even out of warranty. Replacement for $60.
