Any idea about what kind of network they are using with the SGI systems? Do you mean in terms of speed or protocols? There are not too many options, SGI supports TCP/IP over ethernet, fast ethernet, ATM and FDDI. All the new desktops come with integral autosensing 10/100 Mbps ethernet as standard, faster transports are optional. They also support HIPPI (up to 750 MegaBYTE/sec in TCP throughput) for extremely demanding apps, but I believe this is just point to point. Jojo
