<How could I have upgraded when the services that are available today were only a distant dream yesterday?>

The teen/young-adult mania has been a huge replacement business even though it's been simply a voice business [and SMS]. It's the phone functions and design which have driven that replacement business.

You are being [excessively] sensible. That definitely puts you in the old and wise category [and, sorry to say, fuddy-duddy]. Okay, so you are a 39 year old pretending to be 50 [individuals do vary]... <g>

My point is not to prove you are geriatric. It's to describe the fanatical upgrade frenzy in the youth market which is going to really take off with the services we've been waiting patiently [and sensibly] for. Not to mention all the great new gadgets which everyone will want. Also, that the cellphone culture is getting older, which compounds the frenzy.
