Obviously something in that column is bugging you and I'm having trouble figuring out what.
I assume that the report of what Colter said is accurate. If it's a misrepresentation, I can see why that might bother you, but if it was a lie, you probably would have said so.
You mentioned Hitler and re-education camps. It seems to me that that piece was so outrageous that it was pretty obvious it was a spoof. I thought it rather clever--the bits about the charter camps and the faith-based camps, for example, made me laugh. I didn't realize that anyone was "hung, drawn, and quartered" on this thread over a spoof, unless, like the laundry thread, it wasn't recognized as a spoof. If you thought the author was actually suggesting that anyone would institute re-education camps, well, I suppose that could be distressing. I can't imagine that the most paranoid of liberals would think the most dogmatic of conservatives would actually try to do something that extreme.
What am I missing?
