Good points. The level of self-dealing, rule-bending and flat-out law-breaking that we have seen in the last few years is troublesome. These things tend to go in cycles, however, and it is likely that a good number of the guilty parties will wind up in the hoosegow - there seems to be the political will right now to make this happen. Corporate accounting will then become squeaky clean for a good while, imo.
