Well, some aspects are

- Norway, now, has some domestic expertise in oil and gas, platforms and pipes,etc..
(instead of paying for others providing those, many norwegian platforms are even built in finland)
- Norwegian Statoil has been cooperating with the different russian oil factors for a long time
- the europipes are being built, connecting UK-Norway-Russian sources to middle europe.
- one pipe, intruding into finland, was stopped at early 80s, but now there are two parallell ones
where that first one got stopped.
- norway have at least two good reasons for staying out of EU, wih the blessing of EU, fishing and oil-gas.
- the EU common market of scandinavian electricity is evolving, there is a site to find out what goes where,
at what price, on internet. (Norway has a lot of hydro power too, lots of rain and mountains)

Ilmarinen

Not to forget the Oslo agreement
