Yes, it is. And I can't imagine doing without it, either.

I make a list of all the companies who provide these wonderful services that I use constantly, and made all the hardware and services I use daily, and that have made my life better: Etrade, Cisco, various telecom service providers, Amazon, etc., etc. None of them (except Microsoft) are making any money.

So far, the Information Revolution has been great for consumers, and lousy for investors (except for the nimble and knowledgable, who got in early and got out early).

I love my cable modem. If I ever move (unlikely, I love Alaska too), there are 2 requirements for any neighborhood I buy a house in: good schools, and broadband access.
