Without reading all of it, it makes sense to have at least three gas feeding pipes, just like
it makes sense to have at least three alternative highways to select between.

Both for plain failure, technological and mechanical issues, as well as for market and robbery issues.

Mechanically it helps to run two almost parallell lines, for the rest the sources should be as diverse as
possible, like UK-Norway-Russia.

Californias additional dependency on water rights makes it even more interesting, far removed from
the norwegian, scandinavian concepts on, for example, water as well as fishing rights.

Much concentrated in this concep to of "the evil of the commons", or whatever it goes.
(goes back to bungled medieval reforms in UK, those aristocratic and feudal priviledges, etc)

Ilmarinen

One reason there is a north-south evil axis within EU, with UK on the outside, for the moment.
(that is, the most southern parts of EU are desperate, the middle parts have long traditions,
and thus the most southern and north regions have a lot in common)
