Of course, you conveniently fail to mention that the January 1976 resolution envisioned the dismantlement of Israel as an independent state by insisting on a right of return of enough Palestinians to topple Israel; the Arab states knew this was a non-starter, so this can hardly be regarding as a serious peace overture. When the U.K. delegate asked that the January 1976 resolution specifically state that it was not overturning Res. 242, he was rebuffed. Some good faith!
