jdaasoc, since most long distance and international calls are carried IP anyway now, I think we'll be using IP for both local and long distance. I don't think the conventional land style line is going away, but it is just slowly being replaced by the IP phones like CSCO and others sell.

As for the new Handspring phone/organizer, those are neat, but they're still gadgets for people on the move. Once you get in a hotel room, you're always going to want to do real work on a laptop.

I agree about the 20-somethings just having a cell phone. We've got a few in our office who've gone that route. It made sense for them.
