Hi George, Why are Asian shares markets rallying? Asia seems quite far away now. Well, precisely 22 hours of flight time plus 6 hours of layover time:0) I am guessing because the US market is failing to tank and folks in much cheaper markets are getting impatient as interest income has dwindled to nothing and dividend rates getting to be generally higher than 3%, and a few higher than 5%. I am not buying. I am not worried. I am not even watching the Asian markets. The US markets will determine the direction of all other markets, and the local conditions will only act as flavoring. The soup is spoilt already, and no amount of exotic seasoning will disguise the true taste of these markets: deflation, savage competition, increasing political dissatisfaction, and folks going to cash and near cash. The typical retail investor in Asia does not buy local bonds, and generally plays in the real estate and equity markets, and occasionally add gold. Chugs, Jay
