There was a rumor rampant a few months ago that SI would suddenly fold (IHub would be the rendezvous spot for those who don't want to lose touch), and I raised the question then about what would happen to the threads' content if that did happen. There is some fine writing on SI and the idea of it all being lost is distressing.

It was suggested by a couple of people that in all likelihood, CD's containing the entire content of specific threads would be offered for sale. I'm hoping that's true. Well, I'm hoping SI doesn't fold, but if it does, I'm hoping thread content will be available.

There are not so very many posts on this thread that it would be impossible gradually to scan the whole thread for the posts you'd like to preserve and save them. If you just scanned 20 a day (and viewing them ten at time makes that easy) the whole thread could be culled in six months! Thirty a day, and it would be in four months!

(Then you could send your collection to me, hehe!)
