Jealousy is a not a virtue. It's also not the issue, imo. I agree with rrman that people tend to like a big fish if the fish is at all friendly. On the other hand, if it wants to eat you ... I just came across an interesting piece in this month's Atlantic which is subtitled 'Globablization might actually be good for poor countries, if only rich countries played by the rules'. Lots of stats to suggest that we in the first world don't ... Meanwhile, courtesy of Raymond Duray over on the BBR thread, here's Arundhati Roy's take on globalization as re-colonization.
